Mystique Krewe of Rapides

Theme: A Black Tie Affair was the theme of this year's ball. Ball goers and merry-makers were greeted by lovely and sophisticated harlequins who escorted them to their tables, which were festooned with feathers and black and white beads; the atmosphere was reminiscent of bygone eras of sophistication and grace. Throughout the ballroom men in black tie and women in elegant ball gowns swirled and swayed to the strains of Steve Wells' very danceable music.

This is Mystique's 10th anniversary Ball, which necessitated a trip down memory lane. All members of Mystique's courts were recognized in a tableau directed by Earleen Baillio.

Krewe history: Mystique Krewe of Rapides was established in 1996 when the legend of a man named 'Mystique' was discovered. He was obsessed with money and this obsession led him to hoard his treasure of gold coins.. The location of this fortune is still a mystery, so the krewe continues the search even today.

Captain Emeritus Kay Barnidge established the Krewe and Eloise Andries is the current Captain. Current members of the board are: Eloise Andries, Alex Ferry, Neil Klock, Bobbie Mahfouz, Jane Ortego, Wayne Ryan, C.A, Stewart-Thomas and Kay Barnidge.
