Krewe of S'iriser
Krewe founding members:
Eva Long, Ann West,
and Teri Stephens.
|
Three friends, Anne West, Eva Long and Terri Stephens,
founded the Krewe of Siriser (pronounced See
Ree Zay) in 2004. Siriser is an all womens
Krewe based on friendship and membership is by invitation
only.
Siriser is French and means to become
iridescent the light of love reflected
from an iridescent prism promising harmony among
good friends; Bon Amie.
Our Story:
When the Goddess of Iris and the Goddess of Muse met
in New Orleans at the Café du Monde, they made
a lovely pair, two sea nymphs; one with the fleur
d'iris in her hair and the other in her bejeweled
beret-as different as salt and sea air. The Goddess
of Iris represents Hope and is the Messenger

from above to all women of humankind. The Goddess
of Muse, daughter of Zeus, holds the power of imagination
with all the colors of creativity. Together these
two Goddesses possess the virtues of friendship. They
climbed the spiral staircase into the Garden of Enchantment
walled with silver pillars and were transcended into
the Goddess of S'iriser.
Each member is a Winged Goddess-Muses who are empowered
by each other to spread our wings and fly-to become
anything and everything we do desire.

Float:
Ashley Jeansonne and Patricia Dufrene represent us
as our Float Captains. We built our float during the
first year. It was christened as a symbol of friendship,
hope and creativity.

We participate in both the Childrens and Adult
parades and the floats fill almost immediately. Our
members and guests meet in a designated area to enjoy
the Adult Parade.
Siriser is a krewe that prefers to celebrate
the season with its entire family. The Childrens
parade is a time for Goddesses to bring the kids to
roll out our bon temps, or good times. Even the dragons
become involved, riding with the kids and letting
our Goddesses take a well deserved break before the
big kick-off Sunday. Krewe participants typically
come decked out with funky hats, bright t-shirts and
blinky lights waving Styrofoam footballs and noise
makers. Everybody becomes a kid at the AMGA Childrens
Parade.
