Garrett Larsen

Garrett is the nephew of Jimmy Williams who was the 2012 Second Vice-President of the Alexandria Mardi Gras Association. Garrett is a 2006 graduate of Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas. While in high school, Garrett was a letterman in football and baseball. He was vice-president of his senior class and an active member of the Student Council Leadership class. He was a member of National Honor Society and Society of National High School Scholars.

After completing high school, Garrett attended Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas earning a baseball scholarship as a pitcher where he earned a degree in Biology. During his first year at Navarro, he finished his freshman debut with a 4-1 record which caught the eye of the Boston Red Sox scouts. He was then drafted by the Red Sox in the 33rd round of the 2007 Professional Baseball Draft. Passing on his draft options, he returned to Navarro to lead his team to a conference championship with a 12-0 record. During the summer of 2008, Garrett pitched in the Jayhawks League in Liberal, Kansas. After leaving Navarro, Garrett attended University of Louisiana at Lafayette on a baseball scholarship. During his time at ULL, Garrett participated in many community activities along with his teammates. He also participated as a coach at many of the ULL baseball camps for the youth.

Upon completion of his education at ULL, Garrett was an assistant coach at Texarkana College in Texarkana, Texas. Following that season, Garrett was an assistant/pitching coach for the Alexandria Aces. He currently resides in Texarkana, Texas where he is employed by Cooper Tire Corporation in Texarkana, Arkansas.
